Persian Cats - Grooming Techniques Part 1

Some type of grooming is essential for the Persian cat. Obviously, a show cat will need more grooming than a pet. If you love the look of a show cat, but do not show, you can still groom to that perfect show look. This is a series of articles that will cover every aspect of typical grooming sessions for a Persian cat, both for show and pet cats.

It is a good idea to have all your grooming supplies in place before you get your Persian kitten. What you will need:

A gentle slicker brush
Degreaser especially for cats
Stain remover
Shaving cream (used for silvers and goldens)
Q-tips
Sharp blade or bikini razor (for silvers and goldens)
Hemostats or tweezers
5\” straight scissors, blunt nose scissors or small curved scissors
Unscented mineral oil (if you are concerned soap will get in kitten\’s eyes)
Small, soft toothbrush
Tearless shampoo especially for cats
Small, soft cloth or baby wash cloth
Towels

First thing to remember when grooming a cat is to stay relaxed. If the Persian cat senses you are nervous, he or she will become nervous as well. Set up a routine and follow the same steps each time. You will be less likely to forget completing a specific task and your cat will learn what is coming next, which may help alleviate nervousness. It is best to groom your Persian cat as quickly and efficiently as possible.

If you show your Persian cat, bathing and a full program of grooming is generally on a weekly basis as well as always before the show. The weekly maintenance bath is fine for a cat not in shows. However, to enjoy the full beauty of a Persian often requires doing the little extras as well. To avoid mats, regular daily brushing is recommended.

A kitten needs to be use to a bath by 8 to 10 weeks of age. The first sessions should be short. As time goes on, gradually advance to more grooming procedures.

Before the bath:

Lay the Persian cat on his or her stomach on the grooming table
Apply stain remover to areas where needed
Apply a degreaser such as Goop to areas where needed (leave this on and allow it to set before the bath)
Use a gentle slicker brush and begin brushing out the coat

Trim the Nose and Around the Eyes (only for silvers and goldens)

Trim above the nose leather to reveal the nose liner
While stain remover and goop or degreaser is soaking, apply a small amount of shaving cream to the nose liner area with your finger or a Q-tip
Use a sharp blade or bikini razor to gently shave left to right, right to left (the result should be a small, straight, and even line)
Avoid shaving up to high on the nose
Use hemostats or tweezers to gently remove black whiskers from the face, pull one whisker at a time and try to grasp close to the roots without getting other hairs
Stand from behind and to the side of the Persian cat
Hold the cat\’s head with one hand, and carefully trim around the eyes, using 5\” straight scissors, remove longer strands of hairs and eyelashes (the result should: Wider and more open appearing eyes
Caution: Do not trim around the eyes while standing in front of the cat
Blunt nose scissors or small curved scissors may be substituted for the 5\” straight scissors for cutting around the eyes

IP Telephony Solutions

IP Telephony is the transport of phone calls through the Internet. IP Telephony services are available between computers and telephones. PC-to-PC is suitable for users who already have Internet access and an audio-equipped computer. Software is available for free. Integration with Internet services such as instant messaging and e-mail are provided. PC to telephone uses a gateway for call conversion from digital to analog and analog to digital.

Telephone-to-telephone requires two gateways, GSTN-to-Internet, and Internet-to-GSTN. IP Telephony services are either network-centric or end-system-centric. Mobility features are included in IP Telephony. IP Telephony services use either VoIP or SIP based services. VoIP systems are more popular, and their applications are generally used with a simple microphone and computer speakers. However, IP telephones or VoIP boxes can also be used. In recent years, the quality and reliability of VoIP technology has improved to a great extent, and a vast number of users are opting for VoIP based telephone systems.

IP telephony applications require firewalls to pass their Real Time Transport Protocol (RTP) streams. SIP technology has a better mechanism to tackle this problem. SIP server can act as a registrar, proxy or redirect server. It features an application-server interface, presence support, SMS gateway, simplified accounting and authorization and server status monitoring. Linux based SIP software supports numerous codes and phonebook.

The traditional telecommunication operators have been providing special call services using their existing infrastructure that has been accomplished with Intelligent networking architecture. In IP Telephony, router congestion is the main hindering factor, because the audio quality is not on par with PSTN services. Quality wise, IP Telephony services are yet to match their PSTN counterparts.

IP Telephony provides detailed information on IP Telephony, IP Telephony Systems, IP Telephony Solutions, Free IP Telephony and more. IP Telephony is affiliated with Free Internet Telephony.

Silly Love Songs

Posted on August 28, 2008
Filed Under Marriage Advice | Comments Off

Despite my love for Paul McCartneys post-Beatles work with Wings, I have to agree with John Lennon on this one: the world is full of silly love songs. Romantic love is the most overplayed sentiment in music, especially when it tries way too hard to be sentimental. In fact, thats my definition of the popular slang word cheesy. My kids hear me use that term all the time and last year they finally asked me for a definition. After much thought (its actually quite difficult to define), heres what I came up with: cheesy refers to any extreme effort to be sentimental. (Of course, then I had to define sentimental)

But I believe that definition applies to what Lennon was referencing when, upon the Beatles breakup, he lamented that Paul only wanted to fill the world with silly love songs. Words which Paul, of course, adopted into a song titled just that. (And I actually like that song.) But even so, John was right. And the trend towards silly and cheesy love ballads hasnt stopped in the 37 years since he made that statement.

For those of us already married, though, we know that most of those songs simply do not reflect reality. Most of those songs are only concerned with the immature efforts to woo some woman or saddle some stud. But the truth is that its after the wedding bells chime that the real adventure begins. And few songs are able to capture the ongoing what now? of marriage. Few songs are able to articulate how marriage is perhaps the most difficult, and yet promising, relationship we can experience.

I have found one such song, however. Unfortunately, the music of this song is incredibly cheesy. So cheesy, in fact, that its been used in hundreds of commercials and most of us cringe, or laugh, whenever we hear the melody. But then we miss the words. And I believe the words of this song are ridiculously profound. They are able to express the essence of what I believe marriage is all about: a long, daring, difficult journey of two peoples personal growth so intertwined that they can actually, occasionally, experience life as one.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the masterpiece of one-hit wonder Dan Hill, Sometimes When We Touch (cue the strings):

You ask me if I love you
\r and I choke on my reply
\r I\’d rather hurt you honestly
\r than mislead you with a lie
\r And who am I to judge you
\r in what you say or do
\r I\’m only just beginning
\r to see the real you

Right from the opening verse, we hear that this song is different. Id rather hurt you honestly than mislead you with a lie? Are you kidding me? Thats one of the most integrity-filled statements Ive ever heard, and it the type of courageous honesty that every relationship needs. No wonder none of us ever say it. Over and over, we choose to avoid any pretense of voluntarily hurting our spouse. Were reticent to tell them when theyve got bad breath, much less be honest with them about our feelings. I once worked with a client who would nag her husband to near death, but would never dare tell him hes fat. Thats just rude, she would say. But its not rude to hide your disdain for his body and leave him wondering why you wont have sex with him anymore?

The truth is that our spouses usually already know when we have negative or wavering feelings toward them. And when we have the courage to say it out loud, we communicate something far greater than the hurtful wordswe communicate that we dont want to have those feelings remain the status quo. Saying I dont like you right now also communicates and I dont like that I dont like you. And that can be the beginning point to remarkable growth in your relationship.

And sometimes when we touch
\r the honesty\’s too much
\r and I have to close my eyes and hide
\r I want to hold you till I die
\r till we both break down and cry
\r I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

Heres the cheesy chorus we all recognize. Again, because of the ripeness of the melody it is so easy to miss the words. But here we have an appreciation for the true intimacy we both crave and fear at the same time. Sometimesnot every timebut sometimes, getting close to our spouse triggers an insecurity that can be terrifying. Marriage has a way of exposing us nakedly, warts and all, before another person and before ourselves. And that type of honesty is not usually comfortable, and not usually something we seek.

Getting close to someone can bring us companionship, acceptance, and even lead us to the ecstatic thrill of orgasm while in the arms of the person we cherish more than any other on the earth. Getting close can also, however, bring us face to face with our partners flaws, our own inadequacies, and the mountainous anxiety we feel about how much of our lives weve entrusted to this union. Thats why we sometimes try to connect and hide at the same time. Think about it. How often do you close your eyes during any embrace with your spouse? When you hug? Kiss? Make love?

We so often close our eyes during any kind of embrace because the honesty of intimate connection is too much, and we have to close [our] eye[s] and hide. Sometimes we seek the touch without the intimacy; we end up connecting with our genitals in order to avoid connecting with our eyes. Thats because it is sometimes easier to copulate with parts of ourselves than openly communicate with all of ourselves.

At times I\’d like to break you
\r and drive you to your knees
\r At times I\’d like to break through
\r and hold you endlessly
\r At times I understand you
\r and I know how hard you try
\r I watched while love commands you
\r and I\’ve watched love pass you by
\r At times I think we\’re drifters
\r still searching for a friend
\r a brother or a sister
\r but then the passion flares again

Marriage is not a relationship built for the short term. It is more like a marathon requiring incredible endurance and persistence, despite the wide variety of feelings and experiences along the way. And the best marriages are the ones unafraid to feel all those feelings, and even acknowledge them once in a while. And thats what the song does here. Who among us hasnt wanted to vindictively break our spouse and drive him/her to their knees? In the heated exchanges of emotional reactivity, who hasnt felt this: I cannot ever win with you!

As if it were a battle in the first place. Have you ever heard the story about the two campers in British Columbia, Canada? Theyre sitting around the campsite when a grizzly bear wanders up near them. Beginning to freak out, one starts to put on his running shoes. Dude! whispers the other one. What are you doing? You cant outrun a grizzly bear! You can guess the response: Man, I dont have to outrun the bear In relationship battles it is easy to just care about winning, regardless of who loses.

What I especially love about this bridge in the song, though, is the repeated phrase that begins each thought. At times we do want to break down our partners, while at times we want to embrace them forever. At times it does feel like were just roommates, or siblings, just looking for someone to help us feel a little less alone. And then at times that strange desire for deeper connection erupts from within, leading us toward each other in ways far beyond mere friendship.

And sometimes when we touch
\r the honesty\’s too much
\r and I have to close my eyes and hide
\r I want to hold ya till I die
\r till we both break down and cry
\r I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

The greatest thing you can do for your marriage is focus on yourself, learning to calm your own anxiety as you pursue greater connection with your spouse. This means moving away from the mutual needs-meeting matchup so often highlighted as the ideal marriage, where we become responsible for propping one another up. It means moving towards a model that sees a great marriage as occurring between two strong, separate selves who choose to be together as one.

Dr. David Schnarch has a remarkably simple, yet remarkably scary, exercise for couples wanting to grow themselves up in this way. He counsels people toward hugging till relaxed. This involves holding your partner in your arms in such a way that neither one of you is supporting the othereither one of you could let go and neither one of you would fall. In such an embrace you are capable of strong emotional and physical connection, and yet you are each standing on your own two feet the whole time. The key is to resisting the urge to make sure your spouse feels comfortable, or making sure your spouse is there for you up as you begin to relax. The key is to focus on yourself, concentrating on finding your peace within as you embrace the one you hold dearest.

Such an experience can be tremendously powerful in teaching us that even in the midst of close connection, our emotional responses are still up to us. It is not my spouses job to calm my fears and ease my anxieties by telling me want I want to hear, or making promises to me about loyalty or security. It is my job to say yes to my marriage as it forces me to examine myself, calm my own fears, and boldly pursue the types of conversations, connections, and yes, copulation I really crave. I dont want to run from you in order to feel safe; I dont want to trust you to make me feel stable. I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides.

So there you have it, folks, a cheesy love song unlike most others, one that actually calls us into authentic, integrity-filled relationships. Yes, the song is incredibly cheesy. It is, in many ways, one of John Lennons hated silly love songs.

But whats wrong with that?

What\’s Hot and What\’s Not in Kitchen Collectibles

Posted on August 28, 2008
Filed Under Home Improvement Kitchen | Comments Off

Kitschy kitchens decorated with vintage kitchen-wares and furnishing from the colorful eras of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s and beyond are captivating not only baby boomers who remember many of these items sitting in grandma\’s kitchen but younger collectors as well. Whether you prefer the bold primary colors of the post war years, the softer cottage palettes of the mid to late fifties, or the earth tones of the seventies , there are plenty of affordable kitchen collectibles and textiles to choose.

Among bona fide kitchen and home dcor enthusiasts, there are definite differences in their collecting styles. A buyer may not only be drawn to shapes, color, or patterns of a certain time period, but also may favor kitchen-wares, figurines, planters textiles, advertising, etc. associated with a loved one or cherished time in his or her life. For example, one collector began accumulating kitchen items after her grandma died. She collected kitchen-wares which reminded her of her grandmother\’s r red and yellow kitchen in Brooklyn, New York in the late 1940s and early 1950s

Kitchen gadgets, appliances, ceramics, bowls, tins, canisters, textiles in colors of red, yellow, green or blue are by far the most popular colors sought after by collectors. Next you will find a smaller group of buyers, predominately found in areas closer to large metropolitan centers, seeking items in the mid-century colors of pink and turquoise. While the funkier colors of the atomic age just mentioned, \r
attract a small but loyal group, this time period was also known for home accessories produced in softer pastel colors, a palette very popular today among cottage style collectors. Last are the younger \r
collectors who become as sentimental over greens, rusts and browns of the seventies as I do over the reds and yellows of the forties and fifties. If you are a collectibles dealer, Keep this in mind the next time you pass up a drab green bowl at a flea market… the population that will adore that \”muddy green bowl\” are quickly becoming today\’s collectors.

While the colorful eras attract attention, there don\’t seem to nearly as many people jumping on the band wagon to buy orange and pink flowered kitchen canisters and other kitchen relics from the Hippie generation. Yes you will see these kitchen items on eBay and other on-line auctions, but they are not really popular in most shops and antique malls. If you are really into the \”Shaggy Sixties\” take a visit to thrift shops such as the Salvation Army or Goodwill Industries, where you may have some luck bumping into a few of these \”flower power\” leftovers.

As you can imagine, color is a big factor for kitchen collectors, but so is unusual style. Today there is a renewed interest in collectibles of the Art Deco period so keep your eyes open for appliances, accessories and furnishings that have characteristic deco design . Even paper collectibles such as recipe booklets with deco motif are of interest to collectors. While the pricier pottery associated with the Arts & Crafts movement isn\’t generally thought of as a \”kitchen collectible\”, styles from this time period are making their way into today\’s kitchen . There is indeed a new generation of \” art inspired kitchen collectibles\” for the collector with a big budget.

But what about everyday kitchen collectibles, what is hot and what is not among the average collector? What I find most amazing in answering this question is how differently the answer is depending on who you ask. If you do an on-line search about this topic you will find \”popularity\” defined by how often a particular collectible is either searched on the internet or sold on a specific auction site . Cookie jars are one of those collectibles which is consistently listed as a top ten kitchen collectible. Yet I have found that what is stated as \”hot\” on-line is not necessarily what is selling in brick and mortar shops.

Besides unique items, I also find that people like collectibles that they can use , which is why Pyrex sells so well. Pam Kaplan who owns Preservecottage.com said the pink \”Gooseberry\” pattern has been her best seller. I find that Pyrex in all colors does well. Vintage egg beaters and rolling pins are also popular housewares because these older models work better than the newer products. Tin canister sets and bread boxes that are colorful. in excellent condition and priced reasonably are always appreciated by kitchen collectors. On the other hand, if an object can\’t go into the dishwasher or microwave or is to hard to care for it is going to be a slower mover. This is why sets of older dishes sit so long on the shelves of many shops.

Renovation and salvage items (antique stoves, door knobs, architectural trim, windows) are very \”in\” right now as collectors and homeowners are mixing older looks with newer kitchens or creating new twists on old themes such as \”Cottage Style\” or \”Country Victorian\”. \”Country Victorian\” also referred to as \”Romantic Country\” emphasizes the softer more feminine elements of the Victorian era and eliminates the heavy, darker components. I have seen customers asking for Victorian wash bowl sets not for their vanity areas to sit on a wash stand but for their kitchens tables or counters to create romantic accents. The pitcher alone or sitting in the wash basin is often used for a fresh or dried floral arrangement.

There has definitely been a trend to \”re-purpose\” collectibles and furnishings and to incorporate vintage style into contemporary homes. For example, a stylish painted Hoosier cabinet can add charm to a kitchen with the addition of a computer monitor sitting on the pull out baking surface, not batter bowls. A collection of white ironstone pitchers artfully arranged can add just the right touch to an urban chic kitchen condo. Gastric Bypass - Post Operative Expectations

Posted on August 28, 2008
Filed Under Obesity Prevention | Comments Off

At a time when obesity is growing at an alarming rate, an increasing number of people are turning to gastric bypass surgery to solve their weight problem. But just how successful is gastric bypass surgery in terms of weight loss and can it really make a dramatic change to your life?

Gastric bypass has been around for more than fifty years now and, while there are of course risks as there are with any surgical procedure, in the vast majority of cases patients are more than satisfied with the results and enjoy a dramatically improved standard of living. But there is a price to pay.

Following a gastric bypass patients will need to adjust to a very different lifestyle and this can be hard unless adequate preparation is made in advance of surgery to ease patients gently into a post-operative regime.

Some changes are of course obvious. The basic principle behind gastric bypass surgery is to drastically reduce the size of the stomach and physically restrict the amount of food that the patient can eat and so patients clearly understand that the days of sitting down to a big meal are over. But other consequences of surgery are less obvious.

Even in small quantities the days of eating foods that are high in sugar or fat are also over. The consequences of eating such foods can be extremely unpleasant as the rapid absorption of these foods in the now shortened digestive tract can lead to very unpleasant feelings of faintness.

Patients also find that the dramatic change in their eating pattern also leaves them very short of water and they must adjust to constantly drinking small amounts of water throughout the day to avoid dehydration.

This fairly dramatic change in lifestyle is all well and good but just what can gastric bypass achieve in terms of weight loss?

There is of course no simple answer to this question as results will vary from person to person. As a guide however we need to start by understanding just how post-operative weight loss is measured.

The starting point is to assess just how much excess weight the patient is carrying. This is done by working out the patient\’s ideal weight. Measured in pounds, for a man this will be 106 plus 6 times his height in inches less 60. If that sounds complicated then here\’s an example. For a man 5ft 10ins tall his height in inches is 70. Deduct 60 from this and multiply the result of 10 by 6 to give you 60. Finally, add 106 and 60 together and the ideal weight for a man of 5ft 10ins is 166 pounds.

For a woman the principle is the same but this time a women\’s ideal weight is 100 plus 5 times her height in inches less 60.

Taking the example of our man above, if before surgery he weighs 366 pounds then his excess weight is 200 pounds. Weight loss is then measured in terms of the percentage of excess weight lost over time. So, if after 6 months he has lost 100 pounds then his weight loss will be 50 percent. In other words, at that point he will have lost 50 percent of his excess weight.

As a general guide the average patient can expect to lose about 50 percent of their excess weight within 6 months of surgery rising to 70 percent one year after surgery and to 80 percent after 2 years. For the majority of patients weight loss will not continue beyond 2 years and indeed some long-term weight gain will appear after 2 years, typically about 10 to 15 percent of the patient\’s excess weight.

Again, as a general rule, patients who are excessively overweight will lose a greater percentage of the excess weight (perhaps as much as 90 or 95 percent) while people who are less overweight may lose at little as 60 percent within 2 years of surgery.

It is interesting to note that patients very rarely lose 100 percent of their excess weight and thus do not achieve their ideal weight as a result of surgery. For this reason, it is sometimes said that gastric bypass cannot be said to be a complete success. The overwhelming majority of patients would not however agree with this statement.

While they may not reach their ideal weight and may have to condition themselves to a very different lifestyle following surgery, for most patients the results achieved and the improvement in their quality of life is simply unimaginable.

The Young Victims of Identity Theft

Posted on August 28, 2008
Filed Under Identity Theft Fraud | Comments Off

According to the Federal trade Commission there was an estimated half million children who joined the ranks last year with the unfortunate distinction of becoming victims of identity theft. An advocacy group called the Identity Theft Resource Center identifies relatives as being involved in more than half of the child identity theft cases reported in the United States in year 2006.

It should be noted however, the thief is not always someone who knows the child. It is suspected by this resource center that identity theft of children is increasing so rapidly precisely because kids are such good targets. They further believe children are victimized because they usually have a spotless record and because they aren\’t using their credit and as such; the crime can go undetected for years.

Now that most infants by law have social security numbers, thieves have discovered they may be the easiest targets of all. Thieves have years to manipulate these identities and create a considerable amount of damage. Infants and children remain lucrative targets because they typically don\’t use their social security numbers until their late teens and discover the theft problem upon applying for a first job, a student loan or a credit card. When families and their children finally find out, the burden of proof falls on them.

Some of the most common tactics of identity theft (but not limited to) include parents using their children\’s\’ Social Security numbers to open up new credit accounts, and \”dumpster diving\” thieves stealing credit offers mistakenly sent to children too young to make use of the application themselves.

Helen Simmonds, a detective in a local police department, has been handling identity theft investigations. It was noted that almost all involved Social Security numbers issued in the early 1990s to children who are now turning 16, 17 and 18, and trying to obtain credit for the first time. It is believed by the investigator that there is going to be an epidemic [of such cases] not just locally but; across the nation.

It then should come of no surprise that credit-monitoring services are beginning to target concerned parents, offering to monitor children\’s identities. At LifeLock, credit monitoring for your child costs only $25 annually in addition to a $10 monthly charge for adults. LifeLock also takes actions to basically audit the Social Security Administration annually on the child\’s behalf to find out if there\’s been any work history related to the child\’s identity number.

A spokesperson for the SSA advises that parents can simply call their local Social Security office and get that information free of charge. However as a concerned consumer and parent you need to know; if thief is using your child\’s Social Security number, but with a different name then your child\’s, the SSA will not find a matching record for your offspring.

One of the major credit reporting agencies: Experian - recently launched FamilySecure monitoring service which alerts parents as soon as anyone applies for credit using their child\’s name. However, at $19.95 a month, the cost might be a bit cumbersome to many family budgets.

Parents that remember or have the time whom want to contact the three Credit Bureaus to determine if there is any activity on their children\’s credit can use the following contact Information and procedures;

Experian Call 1-888-379-3792, select the Fraud option. Parents have to mail in documentation, including proof that they are the parent or legal guardian for the child, such as a birth certificate for the child and driver\’s license for the parent. If the child does not have a credit file, Experian will notify the parents in writing. If a credit file exists, Experian will provide a copy to the parent so they can dispute any fraudulent information. The bureau will attach a notice on the file that it belongs to a minor, to prevent lenders from issuing credit in the future.

For Equifax Mail a request to: Equifax Information Services, P.O. Box 105139, Atlanta, GA 30348. Attach documentation identifying you as the child\’s parent (see above). If a credit record exists, Equifax will delete any fraudulent accounts, take the report offline and flag the Social Security number as one belonging to a minor. Parents cannot receive a copy of the fraudulent report.

Actions for TransUnion require a parent to Email childidtheft@transunion.com TransUnion will email back instructions on requesting a file. If one exists, the bureau will lock the file until the child turns 18, so his or her information cannot be used to obtain credit.

TIPS for ID Theft Prevention:\r Don\’t give out personal information: never reveal anything about yourself unless you initiate the contact or if you request a phone number that you may call back to authenticate the representation being made (do not give out your Social Security number, phone number, date of birth, or credit card numbers or carry your Social Security Card).

Watch your mail: make sure you collect it right after it is delivered if it is out in the open and accessible to others.

Shred important documents: SSN, credit card numbers, driver\’s license numbers, date of birth and pre-approved credit offers (you can stop these by going to. Pay attention to your billing cycle: missing bills could indicate theft.

Use reputable and secured websites: always use a secure browser, when paying online check to make sure it\’s secure (https: instead of http: identifies a secured server that encrypts the information you submit).

Protect your PC: protect against viruses and spyware, use a firewall, and don\’t download attachments from people you do not know. Do not carry your Social Security card or that of you children\’s in your wallet, purse or automobile. Secure the cards in a safe place when not specifically needed.

There are services that charge for protective and proactive identity measures to safeguard the good name and credit of adults and minor children. If you do not have the time or expertise to put needed safeguards in place make room in the budget for the available experts.

Thieves have the time and ability to steal and ruin your identity. Don\’t think for a minute it can\’t happen to you or your family members because millions of others were just as confident and lost.

Still Confused Whether To Deploy Voice Over IP Or Not?

Posted on August 28, 2008
Filed Under Voip Providers | Comments Off

Technology has made a huge leap in terms of improvement over a period of years. Telecommunication industry too comes under this umbrella of consistent development. Gone are the day when your house or organization would have numerous cable wires running from one room to another. With high speed Internet reaching ever nook and corner of the world, a relatively new technology has evolved as an alternative to your traditional telephony service namely Voice Over IP.

Voice over IP service is completely different from the traditional fixed line telephones in the way it operates. Unlike PSTN or public switch telephony network, VoIP utilities the service of Internet to transmit calls. However, a user of this service will dial and receive calls exactly the same way as he/she used to with PSTN. It offers an additional benefit of offering greater flexibility in terms of connecting to the world.

Besides using your old fixed line phone, you can also make voice over IP calls through your laptop or desktop computer, Internet connection being the prerequisite. In case you are using a fixed line telephone then you would also need an ATA which helps convert analog signals into small digital IP packets. In other words, it helps convert your voice in a format that would be understood by the computer.

A new method for utilizing voice over IP call termination which though relatively new is fast raising the popularity charts is VoIP enabled phones or IP phones. They are handy just like your cellphone and so you can make and receive calls just like you would with your cell phone but at a much cheaper rate. Networking just became easier.

Quick Preview Of Advantages Of Voice Over IP termination

1. Minimum Call Cost - As mentioned earlier, voice over IP routes calls through Internet which enables calls be transferred at more than half the cost if you are calling a land line or a cell phone. If you are calling someone who is a customer of the same voice over IP service provider then your call would probably be completely free.

2. Quality Is Preserved - VoIP service maintains the quality while offering cheaper call termination rates. Lesser rates does not mean poor voice quality with voice over IP.

3. Billing Panel - Some premium Voice over IP providers provide CDR or call detail report by real time billing. This enables online billing solution, helps in monitoring accounts of your clients, easy recharge options et cetera. If you are a voice over IP reseller or wholesaler then this billing panel would prove to be greatly beneficial to you.

Improve Your Credit Score With Small Unsecured Loans!

Posted on August 28, 2008
Filed Under Unsecured Credit Loans | Comments Off

Applying for a small unsecured loan is a simple procedure to raise your credit score. \r Surprisingly, the best and fastest way to recover from a bad credit situation is to take a loan and repay it. It may sound crazy but if you need to raise your credit score and improve your credit history, besides from paying your outstanding debt, avoiding late payments and missing payments, you can apply for a small unsecured loan and repay it. Lets analyze why.

Credit Score

The credit score is a measurement of your credit worthiness. There are many things that affect your credit score. It is clear which delinquencies affect it negatively and why. However, when it comes to positive factors, the situation is more inconsistent. For example, a credit pull will affect your credit score negatively, unless the credit pull was meant for applying for a loan for which you get approved. If you get approved, that may increase your credit score, but if you have too much outstanding debt it may affect your score negatively.

A small unsecured personal loan is an excellent tool because it limits the possibilities of negative influence on your credit score and boosts the chances of positive influence. The small amount will guarantee that your debt doesnt rise too much so your credit score wont be reduced by that. The unsecured nature of the loan drives away the risk of repossession and gets recorded into your recent credit history as a positive loan approval.

Unsecured Personal Loans Effects

As stated above, the positive effects on your credit score turn Unsecured Personal Loans into an excellent option for credit repairing. The approval alone will improve your credit situation but the monthly payments, if made on time, will also increase your credit score. The money can be used for any purpose. If you wish to raise your credit score even more, then destine it to repay more expensive debt, such as credit card balances, store cards or payday loans.

The key to successfully repairing your credit is the continued and uninterrupted repayment of your unsecured personal loan. Once the loan is cancelled in full, you can request another one (youll be able to get better terms) and repay it so you can continue improving your credit score. Within less than a year you can easily get rid of a bad credit tag by doing this. And youll then be able to get finance with lower interest rates and flexible repayment schedules.

So, if you need to repair your credit, consider applying for a small unsecured loan. Its safe and efficient and youll soon be able to enjoy the benefits of having good credit. Just search online for unsecured personal loan lenders and compare what they have to offer. Youll get money for paying off other debt while at the same time increasing your credit score.

Sarah Dinkins is an Expert Loan Consultant at http://www.badcreditfinancialexperts.com where she helps people to repair their credit and to get approved for home loans, unsecured personal loans, student loans, consolidation loans, car loans and other types of loans and financial products. \r Also at her website, plenty of useful articles can be found with more professional advice on the financial field.

Change For The Better Is Good

Posted on August 28, 2008
Filed Under Daily Motivation | Comments Off

Changing the way you do things can help you and your business grow. Don\’t ever settle for what you have. No matter how good it is, you can always do better. There is always room for improvement. Bill Gates wouldn\’t be where he is today, if he would have settled with windows 95. Change can only help you, if you know the right ways to change for the better.

Second opinions always work best. You may think everything is fine and dandy. Ask someone else who is looking inside the picture, instead of outside. You see, you may not find any flaws in your work or business, no matter how hard you look. It\’s always good to go with another pair of eyes, for some opinions to make things better. For instance, is the type blinding you on your website? Or is it too light and not readable. An outside opinion may let you know about these small details, that you don\’t notice all by yourself. Forums are a great place to get second opinions also.

Make sure you are upgrading, when you make change. This may sound silly, but some businesses downgrade without even knowing it. If you are upgrading, remember, sometimes less is more. Try and always keep things plain and simple. But at the same time, offer the customer a new and modern experience. The last thing a customer wants to do is, step backwards in technology. If there is new technology and you can get your hands on it, use it. You\’ll find if you are the first to show new technology, you will be remembered for always staying up-to-date.

Change is so important. Not just to change, but change for the better. I would rather buy a product that was made 2 months ago, instead of a product that was made a year or so ago. Same with websites; Don\’t you find yourself attracted to newer designs that show more technology? Nobody wants to see the same old thing. The same old thing, is just what it says, everyone has the same thing and it\’s old. When things feel and look old, it\’s time for a change.

Search around for ways you can improve. Ask people what you can improve. Ask them what can can change to make things better. Ask people what they don\’t like. Ask people you know, honest opinions without disagreement. Don\’t jump down someones throat if they say something you don\’t like. Just hear them out. They are helping you more than you know. You want to hear a wide vary of opinions. Not everyone one is going to like the way you are doing things. That\’s the best part, find out what they do and don\’t like. Then accommodate as many different people as possible using the information you gathered.
